New England Primate Sanctuary is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing lifelong care to captive monkeys retiring from entertainment and research, and to unwanted or elderly companion animals. In addition to our animal caretaker role, education is central to the sanctuary’s mission and we strive to educate the public about the care and protection of all animals. Conservation and habitat protection are strongly emphasized in our outreach and educational programs.

For the past six years, New England Primate Sanctuary has worked to raise awareness about our mission and goals through our Education Center, educational outreach programs, direct mail campaigns, fundraising events, and networking. We have developed a network of foster homes for special needs dogs that would otherwise be put down due to old age, non-aggressive behavioral problems, problems of mobility and other “special” disorders. We are now poised to begin construction for the primate sanctuary on our new site in Hopkinton, Rhode Island and hope to open our doors to accept animals into the sanctuary in the coming months. In order to do this, however, we need your support! We hope to see you there!
