Laughlin Kennels SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2007/12/13 15:37
To whomever deleted the Laughlin Kennels post its to bad.

I wanna share my experience with them... I personally knew someone who worked there and told me of the AWFUL conditions of the pets in their "kennel"

they are a licensed petstore - altho' the Dept of Ag does LITTLE to regulate the fact that they sell lots of sick/inbred/congentially defective animals.

I just saw a 1999 Fox undercover investigative story about them.

I believe they were shut down in the state of CT so they just opened back up in MA.

Know plenty of people who bought dogs that were sick and had major medical issues... lots of people who had dogs that died.

They are always being written up in the newspaper for the sick dogs they pawn off on people...do a search on google for Laughlin Kennels sick puppies.

There are many online petitions against them... lots of news stories... in fact just over the past months they sold a BLIND PUPPY - BLIND yes BLIND...
how anyone who loves and KNOWS their dogs could NOT notice the dog was blind...

people picket... and write letters to the state and editors and to date NO ONE has closed them down...

its pathetic to say the least...
PATHETIC

not only are the breeders but they are BROKERS... BROKERS get their dogs from PUPPYMILLS

REPUTABLE breeders DO NOT and WILL NOT sell dogs to PETSTORES.
People are lied to at LK... everyone thinks they are a "country kennel" when in fact they are a poorly registered, and rarely inspected petstore

DO NOT BUY from them

do not get involved..
I give it 5 minutes before I get a threatening email from the FINKS... they might threaten to sue me... shaking!!!!!!

They must have threatened the admin person for this site and thats why the post is down...

I'd encourage everyone who knows of them to post their sad stories of heartbreak and sick animals.

Let the truth be told...
Finks... skinks.... slinks???
yeah... they are rip off artists
plain and simple
they know exactly what and how they do it

COME ON FINKS... HOW COME YOU AVOID RETURNING CALLS ON SICK PUPPIES? OR DEAD AND DYING PUPPIES.

YOU MAKE ME SICK

I second that... Laughlin Kennels is a snake pit...
One of my friends bought a SICK dog from them...
and sadly it died... not only did the F*CKS - I mean FINKS not bother to return the NUMEROUS calls and messages but they accused this poor family of MAKING their pet sick...

can you imagine?
YEAH OKAY SKINK's (I mean FINK's)- I"M SURE that this family gave the dog PARVO and Giardia and pneumonia...

OH yeah... and I read all about the husky puppy they sold that was BLIND...

are you really kidding me??
The Fink's are SKANKS and rip off artists

if they loved animals so much why do they cram THREE times the number of dogs in the kennel as they are LEGALLY supposed to have???

why don't they let you in their kennel??? THEY state cause they don't want YOU bringing diseases in to THEIR kennel.

UMM... no... its because the public would be horrified about the smell and stench and nastiness thats in that shack in the backyard...and the coughing puppies with snots pouring outta their noses is very unattractive..

if they actually THINK that the customers would bring in ILLNESSES to their kennel - what the hell is the diff. if they bring their puppies up to them from the deep dark dirty basement...? you think they Lysol those pups in between??? NOT!

even their neighbors hate the SKUNKS- I mean SKINKS I mean FINKS...

yeah they are always featured in news stories for their sick puppies..

tisk tisk FISK FISK
Get the hell outta' selling live animals you sick fat bastards

WE"RE BACK & Laughlin Kennels SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2007/12/13 19:34
THINKING OF PURCHASING A PUPPY???? PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU DO
“Beware of Laughlin Kennel in Oxford, MA”

In the last couple of months my husband and I started searching for a new puppy. We found (after looking many places) the beautiful little girl we were searching for. She was a 9 week old yellow lab, with the most beautiful face we knew she was meant to be with us.
We went to see her Friday 11/9/07 @ 5:00pm (it had to be after 4:00 so she was Vet. checked first), and we instantly fell in love. She had a “clean” & “signed” bill of health by Laughlin’s Kennel Vet., so we proceeded with the paperwork and set up a time to pick her up on Saturday.
We picked her up @ noon on Saturday 11/10/07 and she seemed fine, very loving and playful. Later that evening she began to cough a little but slept well that night. Later on in the day on Sunday she began coughing, wheezing and gagging, so we called Laughlin Kennel, but got no answer. We stayed up with her all night to keep an eye on her and called our own veterinarian (which we have used in the past for our other pets) first thing Monday 11/12/07. They got us in right away and the Dr. found that she “had” kennel cough which turned into pneumonia. The Dr. also did a fecal check which showed low readings of Giardia, and stated that the puppy had been treated at Laughlin Kennel for this parasite on Friday 11/9/07, but chronic exposure at a kennel can cause re-infection. We find it very hard to believe that a licensed veterinarian did not find anything wrong with this puppy after a thorough physical examination at Laughlin Kennel.
We gave Laughlin Kennel a courtesy call to let them know about our puppy so they would be alerted of this very contagious, rapidly spread infection that might be spread throughout their kennel and we wanted to know if they would at least cover the cost of the medicine needed to treat her illness that she got in their care. Their sad and disgusting answer to this was……”We do not cover vet bills. You can bring her back for a refund or you can pick out another puppy”!!! Are you kidding me???? We love and bonded with this sick and needy puppy, and could not believe their response!!! Gheez, do you give up a baby because something is wrong with her? Of course not, you love her and get her the proper medical care she needs to get healthy. Well, the girl we spoke to on the phone told us it was out of her hands and that she would have the manager call us back. It has now been two weeks and still, no call. Not even a courtesy call to see how she was or to apologize about the situation.
We believe that if we hadn’t gotten her when we did, that she may not have made it. Let’s face it; she definitely wasn’t going to get any medical treatment from Laughlin, which leads us to believe that she could have died there. And what about all the other animals there…..what are their chances of surviving if they are sick and no one purchases them? Slim to none.
We brought our puppy to our Dr. for her 1 week follow up 11-19-07, to make sure she was progressing from the meds she’s been prescribed and to have another fecal check done. The Dr. also found whip-worm and coccidia, which she is now being treated for.
We have heard nothing but negativity about Laughlin Kennel after speaking with several people and pet supply stores. No one had a good thing to say about them and would not recommend them to anyone.
Our intention of this letter is to let the community know about this so called Kennel (a/k/a puppy mill), and that more people that have been through similar experiences at this Kennel will come forward. We are starting a petition to send off to the proper organizations. If you have had any experience with this kennel and would like to come forward, please email me at ALT9707@VERIZON.NET.
The only good thing that happened out of this whole ordeal is that we found our new family member and she is on the road to recovery.

Breeder To Stop Performing Surgery On Animals
Fergus Falls, Minn. (AP) ― A New York Mills, Minn. dog breeder has said she will stop performing surgery on animals without a veterinary license.

Kathy Bauck, who owns and operates Pick of the Litter Inc., was recently given a cease and desist order from the state Board of Veterinary Medicine.

Bauck, who plans to comply, is not licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Minnesota, although she has been trained to assist veterinarians in surgery.

The board received a complaint against Bauck alleging she had performed surgical procedures on puppies and dogs she owned, as well as on dogs she sold to others. Minnesota state law does not prohibit "the owner of an animal from caring for and administering to the animal belonging to the owner." However, the law prohibits an owner from operating on their animals.

The order states the dogs involved did not belong to Bauck. She does not deny the surgeries but insists she owned the animals.

"It used to be that you could perform surgeries on dogs if they were your own," she said. "The state doesn't read it that way anymore so I won't do it anymore. I've complied 100 percent and I don't have a problem with that ... I never did anything to intentionally hurt any of the animals."

Bauck said she plans to sell her dog breeding business to her daughter and retire.

Re:Where Laughlin Kennels get dogs 2008/01/23 16:43
Hi, I'm from PA. 6 years ago I purchased an irish setter from a pet shop and the breeder was Kathy Bauck. He was the most wonderful dog in the world. When we purchased him he was supposed to 8 weeks exactly but look very, very small. All during his brief life he was sick from many things. He constantly had ear infections because of his uncontrollable allergies. We literally spent thousands on this poor soul. Not that I wouldn't do it again for Mick. But he was always sick. In late september he didn't seem to be himself. He had exrays done and I had to take him to the hospital. He was dead in 2 weeks. Mick died of Pancreatic Cancer. A cancer that is unhear of in canines.
Anyway, after I read the disgusting way this breeder operates it's not wonder Mick had cancer. It was pre disposed. His mother was probably drinking the water with bird and fecal matter in it. Not to mention all of the other disgusting things I have read about this breeder. My heart is broken because of his lose. Mick was the best part of our family. It's hard to believe he's gone. I'd like to know if anyone else has had a problem with their adult dog from this breeder.

Thanks
