ALARM BELLS!!!!

I haven't personally had the "pleasure" of visiting these "people", but one look at their website should send off all sorts of alarm bells! HOW could anyone possibly care for, raise, or otherwise provide healthy conditions and puppies from such a huge number of breeds listed. Think the pictures are cute? Just try to see the conditions they came from, and their parents did. SHAME, SHAME!!!! Where are those who are charged with enforcing animal cruelty laws? Are they in the pay of the owners? I wonder.

At a time when efforts are being mounted to shut down PUPPYMILLS - how are they allowed to stay in business?

All I had to do was look at them from Google Earth! I suppose you could consider it a "home enviroment", if you call a warehouse a "home". There is no evidence of runs, exercise pens, or anything else that a reputable breeder WOULD have.

I can't find the story about their being shut down in Connecticut, but it wouldn't surprise me. All they have to do is move their operations across to Massachusetts. As to "how" they get access to other breeds, just watch YouTube on "dog auctions". One was filmed by someone from HSUS - under cover, of course. It'll break your heart!

To think I found THEM, when I was checking on another miller who was in operation in New Hampshire (would skip down to Mass. if the heat was on). Fortunately, she seems to have stayed shut down, but it took 20 years!

Hi Devildogs and everyone else who's been harmed by Laughlin Kennel:

It's all very well to complain to each other, but I was on the phone to HSUS person who said that no one can do ANYTHING until someone lodges a complaint against them with the MSPCA Law Enforcement Department. She's right. MSPCA Law Enforcement people need SOMETHING, anything (like vet records, etc.) on sick puppies bought from them before they can even THINK of getting a search warrant. THEN, maybe these people WILL be shut down. BTW, all complaint information is kept confidential. Inspections and licensing are done by the Mass. Bureau of Animal Health (617) 626-1795. Just now, Laughlin IS licensed, but you can bet they had plenty of warning before the inspectors came.

MSPCA's reports on complaints and investigations of such DO go to the bureau, and they are public once the MSPCA hands them over.

Just complaining HERE isn't going to help. People have GOT to be willing to come forward!

im just on here to say i cant believe that they are still around. about 3 years ago i worked for them. i was in a tight spot and needed a job. i worked there for about three months before they fired me. they had me pushing meds through needels to the puppies, cleaning the cages that were covered in crap and pee. they only had me and one other girl working for 4 hours a day. with the amount of puppies and dogs they had they definately needed to be cleaning the crates more then once a day. then they would put all the sick puppies in one room all together no matter what was wrong with them. nevermind the conditions of the outdoor kennels. they had the dogs that they breed themselves stuck outside all day everyday rain or shine. on top of that they would have little dogs in the same area as the big dogs and there was constant fighting and bighting. they wouldnt even treat the wounds they just let them fend for themselves. they never mowed their backlawn where the dogs were outside. and the one time they did mow it was their 10 year old daughter home from school doing it. on my last day there they had the vet come to check the new pups. we were on our lunch break and i was sitting at the desk waiting for the vet. down came the owners wife who fired me on the spot for sitting in "her" chair. i found out later from one of the girls i became friends with there that the owner new i was going to report them for the conditions there. i also found out that they only keep their employees for the most of three months at a time. the vet only shows up every three months there even though they get new puppies every week

WOULD you be willing to report this???? MSPCA Law Enforcement Department is real interested, as is a woman with HSUS. All reports to the MSPCA are kept confidential. If they think there is something they really should look into, then they do go to the Mass. Bureau of Animal Health. I've already included their number in my last email.

I just had another reply from my HSUS person, and she said what I'd said earlier. SOMEONE has to lodge a FULL COMPLAINT against Laughlin BEFORE the MSPCA can move at all. These poor dogs don't have a voice of their own, and they NEED someone who does. Complaints to the MSPCA ARE kept confidential, and no, threats of suing aren't worth the space they take up on your email. IF you're telling the truth, Laughlin can't do anything.
