Poop Bags 2007/09/10 12:42
First, congrats on another great event! This is a fantastic effort and the cause close to everyone's hearts. I am so glad Pet Rock helps raise awareness and funds for our voiceless friends and am already looking forward to next year!

Speaking of next year, I sincerely hope an ample supply of doggie "poop bags" will be on hand and supplied to guests. Or if not, at least make this information widely known in advance and remind people to bring their own. They have been supplied in years past and help responsible owners avoid embarassing situations, not to mention encourage the less-responsible to do their part. Why would this essential supply be overlooked while so many relatively useless things were given out? Maybe there's even a sponsorship opportunity here... but even if not, don't leave this essential detail out of such a large dog-attended event!

You are very right about that. We'll undoubtedly have a large supply of poop bags next year. Our supplier indeed fell through at the last minute, and you're right - this is a necessity!

Also, we are working diligently to create a large food court next year to offer many more choices in vegetarian food.

Always look for big and better improvements to Pet Rock Fest.

Thanks so much for your feedback.

First of all it was a great event and we at Paws Awhile will be back next year! We kept poop bags available and visible at our booth and it gave us a nice way to say to people "oh do you need a bag we have some" We had to ask at least 10 people around our booth to clean up after their dogs but everyone was agreeable. My gripe is that we were near the water park and for some reason people thought it was OK to let their dogs poop up behind it and not clean up. I never saw the culprits but noticed it when I walked my dogs up in that area. After talking with a few other vendors at the show we had some thoughts. What about asking each vendor to supply a poop station along the way sort of like what they do at some dog parks. So for example us at Paws Awhile would put a supply of poop bags in that water park area with a sign that said Doggie Pick Up Bags at this station supplied by the folks at Paws Awhile Thank you for picking up after your dog. We hope you stop by our booth. The vendor could also be responsible for replenishing the bags at that station. Another idea was we spoke to a representative from DoodyCalls. I can furnish you with his info if needed. He said he would be willing to place pet waste containers around the park with his logo on it. I had one other pet peeve but I believe it needs it's own thread. Overall, I have to say honestly this was the best year ever despite the weather!

I have to admit this was the first that it was Pet Friendly Weather.
Am wondering if there is a possibilty for a tent area or awning for Pets to go sit under for hot sunny weather. Cause next year its going to be warm and sunny <S>
Good Idea about the Pick Up Bags. Each "sponsor could even offer a raffle or prize or something to encourage bag use.
