  • 1:50 p.m.  Presentation of Exemplary Service in Law Enforcement Awards to: Assistant District Attorney Suzanne Dunleavy, MSPCA Law Enforcement Officer Lori Miranda and ARL Law Enforcement Christopher Charbonneau, who worked more than two years to prosecute the owner of Aces Wild Farm in Plymouth, MA, in a case that resulted in the death and severe neglect of more than 30 horses and sheep.
  • 2 to 2:40 Uncle Billy's Smokehouse
  • 2:40 p.m. WXLO announces its cutest pet winners; First place is one week accommodations for two at the beautiful Amsterdam Resort Aruba, courtesy of the New England Lifestyle Magazine, Creative Living. 
  • 2:50 The Pet Barn announces the Cat Photo Contest Winners / Raffle Prizes - Round Two Announced
  • 3:15 to 4 p.m.Trebek
  • 4 to 4:10  This year's Pet Rock recipients say a few words about their organizations

  •  All day - Our biggest ever Kind Kids Tent, which includes face painting, crafts and games. This area will also feature various children's inflatable rides
Food vendors (including Papa Gino's pizza slices) available throughout the day in the “music area.” This year, as with last year and forever more, don’t look for meat at this festival. Think about it, folks. We’re loving animals today. Let’s not eat them – even if just for the time being.

1 p.m. Blue Dog Group Performance 

1:30 The Adoptable Pet Parade.  $1,000 prize awarded to the winner coutesy of the Pet Rock Fest, judged by Hill's. 

2 p.m. The Dog Contest
     2 p.m. Best Ears (judged by PetsMart and Canine Fence)
     2:15 p.m. Owner-Dog Look Alike (judged by PetsMart and Especially for Pets)
     2:30 p.m. Waggiest Tail (judged by PetsMart ant PetCo)
     2:45 p.m. Best Vocalist (judged by PetsMart and VCA)
     3 p.m. Most Unique Look (judged by PetsMart and TLM Studios)
 
Prize package awarded to first place winners of each contest. First place winners receive a Group Dog Training Course (up to $130 value) courtesy of A Dog's Way, a gift card for PT Pet Supply, a certificate and a medal. Second place winners receive a Group Dog Training Course by A Dog's Way, a gift card for Especially for Pets, a certificate and a medal. And third place winners receive a gift card courtesy of PT Pet Supply, a piece of jewelry from Dixie's Pet Project, a certificate and a medal.

3:30 p.m. Performance by Blue Dog Group

3:40 Drawing by Leigh, Jeannie and Charl for the two lottery winners (each receiving $500 from Pet Rock)

AT  THE  INFORMATION  TENT

Cat Photo Contest sponsored by the Pet Barn, ribbons will be posted by 2 p.m. and announced from the Music Stage at 2:50 p.m. Please leave your cat photos up for all to see through the end of the event. If you cannot wait until the end, we will mail the photo back to you. Winners receive gifts from the Pet Barn (which include Cat Trees, toys and food), as well as photos posted on the Web site and Pet Barn locations!

ONGOING ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE DAY


Live music and announcements take place throughout the day on the "Music Stage."

The Kind Kids tent features various children's activities led by Donna Vayo, including face painting and crafts

VCA Hospitals Provides the ask-the-vet table and free rabies clinic. This rabies clinic is limited to two pets per family. Also, cats must be in carriers and all must pay admission to the event to take part in the clinic. Microchipping certificates are provided to be used at VCA locations, but the microchipping procedure is not actually performed on site.

Visit the Boston Animal Rescue League's Rescue Ambulance, Adoption Wagon, Spay Wagon and Rescue Vehicle, Interactive Kids Exhibit 

Dr. Monica Mansfield, DVM, signs copies of her new book, "The Black Panties: Tales of Mischief and Veterinary Intrigue" from noon to 3 p.m. near the Information Tent

Think your dog measures up in agility? Try it out at the Gemini Dog Training Course located at the far end of the field. Run your dog through it for a donation.

Weston Whirlwinds Flyball Team puts on demonstrations

Finz from the Worcester Sharks, Twister from the Tornadoes and Surgeo from the Worcester Surge all hang out in the kids area. Visit with these friendly area mascots.
